Atlético deflates in Ipurua and is eight points behind the lead

first_imgAtletico left the field without concentration, although his game improved after the breakSimeone’s show their impotence against a very tidy Eibar Atlético de Madrid dipped his knee in his visit to Ipurua (2-0) in a poor performance of the mattresses, unable to find a ray of light against Eibar, and overwhelmed by the lack of play in a duel, the first of the second round, which was marked by heavy rain. The rojiblancos are still hurt after their defeat in the final of the Spanish Super Cup and left ‘touched’ of Ipurua. Atleti improved his game in the second half, but it didn’t help to change his luck. The first part and the strength of the Eibar ended up condemning their intentions. There was no miracle, or Oblak stops preventing a new defeat, the third of this season in the League.Atlético had a bad start, without intensity and at the mercy of Mendilibar’s pupils. The direct game of the Blaugranas dwarfed the mattresses from the beginning, good proof of this was the shot of Pedro León at five minutes. Five later came 1-0 with a dose of suspense, after Esteban Burgos finished off in a doubtful position. The referee annulled the goal for offside, but the VAR changed its decision and allowed Burgos’s shot, with the sole and free mark, to rise to the scoreboard. The reply was positive, but it took time to arrive. Joao Felix was the first to try his luck and Correa followed in his footsteps with another somewhat loose shot. Ángel Correa regrets a missed occasion against Eibar. Image: EFEcenter_img Vitolo added his name to the list of occasions, but none ended up disturbing Dmitrovic’s goal. In fact, the reaction appeared in the final quarter-hour before an Eibar always well planted, with the solidity of his stadium and the hunger that his opponent had not shown.Everything changed in the second half, but neither did Atlético’s goal. Arias had a sensational volley at 51 minutes and Morata headed a center of Saul with 20 left until the end, but it was not the day. Not even Lodi could score with a cross shot in a more comfortable position, although later the action was canceled out of play.Simeone sends a message to the club Joao Felix also kept trying but his impotence and gestural language speak for him at this time of the season. His youth and lack of charisma generate more anxiety than good performance and Simeone ended up replacing him ten minutes from the end by the youth player Sergio Camello. This was not the only player of the subsidiary that played against Eibar. Simeone also gave minutes to Oscar Clemente, who debuted with the rojiblancos, sending a message to the box in the absence of troops. None of them had the opportunity to frighten even the reinforced cement of Eibar at the edge of their area.To make matters worse, the effort of the locals was rewarded in the 90th minute with a violent shot by Edu Expósito at the exit of a corner. Oblak did not reach the ball, which entered tightly to the post, and signed the triumph of the Basques, who catch air with respect to the relegation zone. On the other hand, the Atleti lets out another train and gives free way to Real Madrid and Barça so that they continue to open the gap in front of the table.DATA SHEETEIBAR: Dmitrovic; Tejero, Burgos, Bigas, Cote; Edu Expósito, Sergio Álvarez, Pedro León (Cristóforo, min. 74), Inui, Orellana (De Blasis, min.80); and Sergi Enrich (Charles, min. 87).ATHLETIC OF MADRID: Oblak; Arias, Felipe, Savic, Saúl; Thomas, Herrera (Lodi, min. 73), Correa, Vitolo (Clemente, min. 87); Joao Félix (Camel, min. 83) and Morata.–GOALS:1 – 0, min. 10, Burgos.2 – 0, min.90, Edu Expósito.–REFEREE: Gil Manzano (C. No MRI facilities at Letterkenny hospital at weekends worrying – Doherty

first_imgDeputy Pearse Doherty said the unavailability of MRI scanning facilities at Letterkenny University Hospital during the weekend period is ‘extremely concerning.’He is calling on the Minister for Health to take action to ensure that Radiographers remain on call on Saturdays and Sundays.Deputy Doherty’s comments come following the disclosure of figures requested from the HSE detailing both staffing rotas and access hours for radiology services at the Hospital. The data reveals that no MRI service is in place for patients at Letterkenny from 5pm on Fridays and right throughout the weekend.Deputy Doherty said “Following having received complaints from a number of constituents about them having been unable to access radiology facilities at Letterkenny hospital over weekends, I brought the matter to the attention of the Minister and I requested a detailed breakdown of staffing arrangements and hours of access to Xray, CT Ultrasound and MRI services at the hospital.“I’ve now received this data from the HSE and the staffing roster confirms that no MRI service is in place for patients in Letterkenny from Friday evenings, nor on either Saturdays or Sundays.“This is obviously extremely concerning considering the importance of MRI scans in helping to diagnose or monitor treatment for a variety of conditions in patients as the technology can provide physicians with extremely detailed images such as for the detection of tumors, certain diseases or other abnormalities which may be present in the body. “Clearly, the absence of a dedicated MRI service for patients during the weekend period is not acceptable and this issue must be addressed and the Minister must take responsibility here for what is a serious failing in what is our largest acute public hospital locally.“I will now be bringing this matter to the attention of the Minister and I will be asking him to outline what action he will now take to ensure that radiology services for patients are not out of action for such lengthy periods including weekends when patients need to access what can often be life-saving facilities.”No MRI facilities at Letterkenny hospital at weekends worrying – Doherty was last modified: November 1st, 2016 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)last_img read more
