HRK 18 million in grants for projects in Croatian tourism have been secured

first_imgThe 37th session of the Tourist Board of the CNTB was held at the Ministry of Tourism, at which the members of the Council adopted a plan for marketing and PR cooperation on the project “Ultra Europe 2018”, Aid to the tourism sector for security was also voted through the program “Safe tourist season in 2018” and financial support was provided for events, development of tourism products and initiatives in underdeveloped areas of tourism. The members of the Tourist Board of the CNTB were also presented with information on the course of the season and the situation on the markets, as well as a proposal for cooperation with the Slavonia cluster and the Imotski Tourist Board in the development of tourism development strategies in these areas. For the development of the tourism sector in 2018, the decision of the Tourist Board provided 13 million kuna of minimum aid, which is 2,5 million more than in previous years intended for entrepreneurs to co-finance the costs provided by the Program. Also, today’s decision to award grants to events in 2018 in the total amount of HRK 9 million; out of a total of 650 registered, 246 national, regional and TOP events and events in the pre- and post-season will be co-financed.However, it has not yet been announced which projects will be co-financed, so we are waiting for a response from the CNTB, and as soon as we receive them, we will publish them.Ultra EuropeOn that occasion, Minister Cappelli pointed out that the Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the CNTB, allocates significant funds to strengthen the supply of the country’s tourist product, which contributes to the growth of tourist demand. “The tourism results so far are the result of numerous projects and activities carried out in all segments of tourism. Today, Croatia is a recognizable tourist destination, and a large role in this is played by numerous events that take place throughout the year. In addition to creating additional motives for the arrival of guests, the events have multiple positive economic effects for entire destinations, and this value has been recognized by the Government of the Republic of Croatia. Croatia is also recognized in the world as one of the safest destinations, so I am extremely glad that this year, for the thirteenth time in a row, the project “Safe Tourist Season” will be realized. The stay of foreign police officers on our coast during the summer months, along with Croatian colleagues, greatly contributes to the additional sense of security of tourists and thus affects the strengthening of the competitiveness of our country.”Said Minister Gary Cappelli. This year, as part of the “Safe Tourist Season” project, in addition to 80 foreign police officers from 17 European countries, police officers from China will participate for the first time.The Tourist Board adopted a proposal for cooperation with the company MPG live doo in the amount of 4,2 million kuna in marketing and PR activities of the project “Ultra Europe 2018” in order to further promote Croatia as a festival destination, its natural beauty, cultural heritage and gastronomic offer through Ultra Europe Festival. It is a support to the seven-day Ultra Europe festival, which has been held in Split, Bol on the island of Brač, Hvar and Vis since 2013 and attracts more than 150.000 people from over 140 countries every year. “The Croatian National Tourist Board supports quality projects that add value to Croatian tourism through the award of grants. This year, through four programs, we are co-financing a total of 464 projects with almost 18 million kuna. These are funds allocated to those projects that are the bearers of the current and future overall Croatian tourist offer.Said the director of the CNTB, Kristjan Staničić Slavonia tourism marketing plan strategy Photo: TZ PožegaThe members of the Tourist Council made a decision on cooperation and co-financing of the relevant documents “Strategy of the marketing plan of Slavonia tourism with the branding plan” of the Slavonia cluster (Vukovar-Srijem, Osijek-Baranja, Virovitica-Podravina, Požega-Slavonia and Brod-Posavina counties) and the subject document “Tourism Development Strategy of the Imotski Krajina Tourist Board of the Imotski Region. The aim of these programs is to encourage the association of tourist communities to manage tourist visits, tourist experience and tourist product using unique strategic resources throughout the year, on the continent as well as in the coast based on profession and knowledge. “The Croatian continent is an integral part of our overall tourist offer and has exceptional potential. It is precisely the balanced tourism development of our country that is one of the goals of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, so we set out to develop a “Strategic Marketing Plan for Slavonia Tourism with a branding plan” to realize the tourism potential of one of our richest regions.Said Minister Cappelli.There were 19% more arrivals and 24% more overnight staysAccording to the eVisitor system, which contains tourist traffic generated in commercial and non-commercial facilities and nautical charter (eCrew system) for the previous part of the year (January-May), they show that interest in Croatia is at a very high level, and a similar trend is expected during in the coming months. Thus, in the period from January to the end of May, 3,6 million arrivals (+ 19%) and 11,6 million overnight stays (+ 24%) were realized in Croatia. Out of that, foreign tourists realized 3 million arrivals (+ 27%) and 9,8 million overnight stays (+ 27%), while domestic tourists also recorded increases in arrivals by 10% and in overnight stays by 7%. In May, there was an increase in arrivals and overnight stays from all markets, and a significant increase in the number of arrivals and overnight stays was recorded from the German market, followed by Hungary, Austria, Ukraine and the long haul markets of China and Canada.last_img read more
