This as TCI needs to send a strong message as a country with laws in place to deal with illegal migrants. The message comes from Premier Sharlene Cartwright Robinson who is also cautioning persons caught harbouring illegal migrants of the hefty fine of $20,000 for such an offence. Her warning comes on the heels of reports circulating that a vessel with some 100 Haitians arrived on TCI shores early Thursday morning. While no official word on how many persons arrived on the boat, members of the Police Service together with the Immigration Task force apprehended several of the migrants, it is believed that a vast number remain at large. An appeal has been issued to residents of Providenciales to assist with information leading to the apprehension of others who traveled on this vessel, or any other illegal migrants within our borders. She adds that the summary conviction or term of imprisonment for the offence is four years, while persons acquiring status other than by birth convicted of the offense can face the possibility of their status in the Islands revoked, making them liable to deportation. A frustrated Premier, who is the acting Border Control Minister, says “It is a vexing experience as each time the country’s purse is taxed and monies that can be used elsewhere for our developmental needs are directed towards detention and repatriation”.The Premier in expressing understanding of the matter, as something previous governments have grappled with, she says the time had come to change the approach to the problem. As a result, she is promising to send a clear message to persons breaking the law as she intends to implement stronger penalties to come for those caught. The Premier underscored the message of the TCI as a country with laws.Premier Cartwright Robinson is currently acting Border Control Minister, as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Border Control, Sean Astwood was in The Bahamas for the opening of Parliament.#MagneticMediaNews#StifferPenalitiesForIllegalMigrantsComing#TCIACountryWithLaws

Colorware Editor’s note: Apple has unveiled a refreshed version of the AirPods with a new H1 chip and a wireless charging option that costs extra. Read the AirPods 2019 review. If you’re in the market for Apple’s AirPods — or another pair of truly wireless headphones — you may want to wait a bit. Apple’s is expected to release a new set of AirPods, mostly like called the AirPods 2, this year and possibly as soon as March 25, when it’s scheduled to host a special event at the Steve Jobs Theater on its Cupertino campus.Word is the company will use the event to unveil a host of new digital services — including, possibly, a new TV streaming service and an updated version of Apple News that builds on its recent acquisition of Texture. But there’s always a chance it could sneak in some hardware announcements — like new iPads and those much-anticipated AirPods 2.Here’s a quick roundup of all the latest AirPods 2 chatter. To be clear, all these rumors are unconfirmed and Apple doesn’t respond to questions about unannounced products, so take this all with a grain of salt.Read more: Best fully wireless headphonesRumored design updatesNew colors: Some sites are claiming that the AirPods 2 will come in black and possibly other colors. Aside from that, the AirPods 2 will allegedly look nearly identical to the original AirPods.New grippier finish: The new buds could have a new soft-touch coating with a subtle grip to it that helps the AirPods 2 stay in people’s ears more securely (see posts by MySmartPrice, Economic Daily News). This would be a key and welcome upgrade that seems too good to be true.Rumored feature updates (likely)Always-on voice-control: No need to double tap on a bud, just say “Hey, Siri” to activate Siri. There’s consensus among Apple watchers that this feature will be added and 9to5Mac recently discovered that iOS 12.2 includes ‘Hey Siri’ setup interface for the rumored AirPods 2.Wireless charging: The long-awaited and already announced AirPods wireless charging case will almost assuredly be included with the AirPods 2 — possibly alongside the long-delayed AirPower charger.Upgraded Bluetooth connectivity: As a report from Bloomberg suggested last year, Apple is expected to upgrade the new AirPods with a new W2 chip with Bluetooth 5.0 support. The current AirPods support Bluetooth 4.2. Improved bass performance: Tweaks to the AirPods’ internal design will supposedly improve the bass (see MySmartPrice post). The lack of bass is a weakness with the current AirPods, so it wouldn’t be surprising for Apple to have engineered the next AirPods to sound a little better.Better battery life: Some have suggested the wireless chip upgrades could mean the AirPods will be come more energy efficient and be able to eke out more battery life. I wouldn’t expect a big bump, but an extra hour or so would seem doable.Improved water-resistance: That same Bloomberg report said Apple was looking to make the new AirPods more water-resistant. Apple doesn’t state exactly how water-resistant the current AirPods are, but plenty of people run with them (and sweat on them) without a problem already. Enlarge ImageThis accessory helps not only helps keep the current AirPods in your ears but it improves the AirPods bass performance. David Carnoy/CNET Rumored feature updates (less likely)”Wellness” monitoring: It’s unclear just what these monitoring features might end up being — or what sensors Apple might add — but this rumor has been making the rounds ever since Apple was granted a patent in July of 2017 for future AirPods biometric sensors. The Jabra Elite Active 65t has a motion sensor for tracking fitness performance, but Apple’s biometric patents appear to be more sophisticated. Noise control: One of the AirPod’s downsides is that their open design allows a lot of sound to leak in from the outside world, which has a major impact on sound quality in noisy environments. That aforementioned Bloomberg report from last year also hinted the next-generation AirPods could feature some sort of noise-cancelling element. Now there’s talk of this feature appearing in the third-gen AirPods, which would also include better water-resistance and perhaps those biometric sensors. That model would potentially be larger and wouldn’t come out till 2020, according to speculation from respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Rumored pricingMySmartPrice, which doesn’t have the greatest track record with rumors, reported that the AirPods 2 would cost more — around $200.However, others suggest the AirPods 2 will costs $160 — or the same as the original AirPods. I personally think the price will remain the same. With all the new true wireless competitors out there, it would be a mistake for Apple to raise the price. Latest AirPods 2 news and rumorsMarch 14: Taiwan-based Digitimes, which keeps tabs on companies that make components for Apple products, claims the AirPods 2 are set for mass production and will be unveiled at Apple’s March 25 event, according to its sources. Digitimes has been wrong in the past.Feb. 12: Popular tech leaker @OnLeaks says that the AirPods 2 will launch this fall and come in new colors, according to a “new and yet unconfirmed but seemingly reliable source.” @OnLeaks predicts that Apple will launch the new AirPods wireless charging case “soon” but that it will ship with current AirPods, not upcoming AirPods 2. He’s really a prime example of what happens when talent and preparation meet opportunity and access. When the van made a fifth stop to pick up a second arrestee, Sgt. Alicia White helped check on Gray. “Mr. Gray was found kneeling on the floor, facing the front of the van and slumped over to his right against the bench, and reportedly appeared lethargic with minimal responses to direct questions.”___This story has been corrected to show that Officer William Porter was involved in the fourth stop, not Sgt. Alicia White. BALTIMORE (AP) — A medical examiner found Freddie Gray suffered a “high-energy injury,” most likely caused when the Baltimore police van he was riding in suddenly slowed down, according to an autopsy report obtained by The Baltimore Sun.The report says Gray’s death could not be ruled an accident and is instead a homicide because officers didn’t follow safety procedures”through acts of omission.”Police arrested Gray, 25, on April 12 and he died a week later, prompting protests and rioting. A grand jury indicted six officers on various charges; one officer faces the most serious charge of second-degree “depraved-heart” murder. They have pleaded not guilty.A spokesman for the Maryland medical examiner and for the prosecutor’s office declined Tuesday to release the report, but State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby condemned the leak in a statement.“I want to make it very clear that the state’s attorney’s office did not release the Freddie Gray autopsy report. As I have repeatedly stated, I strongly condemn anyone with access to trial evidence who has leaked information prior to the resolution of this case,” she said.Attorneys for the officers released a joint statement saying they had not yet received the report, although Mosby is expected to turn it over to the defense by Friday. The defense attorneys said they believed only the prosecutor and the medical examiner’s office had copies. The newspaper reported it obtained a copy of the autopsy, and sources who verified it for the Sun requested anonymity because of the high-profile nature of the case.Although officers loaded Gray into the van on his abdomen, the medical examiner surmised Gray may have gotten to his feet, then been thrown into a wall when the van abruptly changed direction. Because Gray wasn’t belted in and had his wrists and ankles shackled, he was “at risk for an unsupported fall during acceleration or deceleration of the van.”Police and an attorney for the Gray family have said previously that Gray suffered a severe spine injury. At the University of Maryland Medical Center, Gray tested positive for opiates and cannabinoid, according to the autopsy.According to the report’s chronology:Gray suffered no injuries to suggest a neck hold or anything stemming from physical restraint during his arrest. Assistant Medical Examiner Carol Allan noted that in bystander video, Gray is seen bearing weight on his legs and speaking as officers load him into the van. The van made several stops. At the second stop, officers placed an identification band and leg restraints on Gray. “Reportedly, Mr. Gray was still yelling and shaking the van. He was removed from the van and placed on the ground in a kneeling position, facing the van doors, while ankle cuffs were placed, and then slid onto the floor of the van, belly down and head first, reportedly still verbally and physically active.” The most significant injury to Gray may have occurred after this stop. During a fourth stop, authorities said van driver Caesar Goodson called for help and Officer William Porter got involved. “The assisting officer opened the doors and observed Mr. Gray lying belly down on the floor with his head facing the cabin compartment, and reportedly he was asking for help, saying he couldn’t breathe, couldn’t get up, and needed a medic. The officer assisted Mr. Gray to the bench and the van continued on its way.”
