A suspect device was thrown into a house on West Singland Road, Garryowen shortly before noon on Saturday. The house was occupied at the time but all people escaped without any injuries after the device failed to explode.In the immediate aftermath, a man in his 20s was arrested and detained at Henry Street Garda station.The area was made safe and the device was treated by the bomb disposal unit and is now subject to forensic analysis.A number of other violent incidents are also under investigation after petrol bombs were thrown at houses in Kennedy Park on Friday night causing little damage but not injuring the occupants.
